Paul Pogba should leave Manchester United – Rooney Warns

The midfielder has been a disappointment at Old Trafford, and the Red Devils great believes it’s time for him to move on.

Wayne Rooney, a Manchester United legend, has stated that Paul Pogba should probably look for a new club.

In 2016, the Red Devils’ record signing returned to Old Trafford amid much fanfare, but he has yet to live up to his exorbitant price tag with inconsistent performances.

And, with the 29-year-contract old’s set to expire in the summer, Rooney believes it’s time for him to go on.

“I think it’s probably better if he moves on now,” Rooney told Sky Sports.

“If Paul is being honest with himself, he hasn’t had the impact he’d hoped for since his return.

“Every time I watch him play for France, I see a completely different guy.” In every game for France, his ability, vision, and game control are present.

“It hasn’t worked out for him at Manchester United, and I believe they need to let a few players go.”

When asked why Pogba’s time at Old Trafford hasn’t gone well, Rooney responded, “There hasn’t been a settled manager since Alex Ferguson.”

So, whoever comes in, they (the board) must provide him time to establish connections with players.”

Man United are looking for a new head coach at the end of the season, with Ralf Rangnick serving as an interim replacement.

Rooney has backed Mauricio Pochettino, the former Spurs and current PSG manager, over Ajax’s Erik ten Hag, but has emphasized that whoever is hired would need time to establish their authority and vision at the club.

“Now is the time for managers to lay forth their blueprint for the club.

If you give him enough time, he’ll succeed.

He knows how to work with top-level players as well as young players, and I believe you need to strike that balance because they can’t afford to fail again.”

Paul Pogba needs to work on his physical fitness before he can return to the field again.
