FT: Chelsea 2 – 0 Tottenham EPL (Watch Highlights)
Chelsea defeated Tottenham 2-0 in the English Premier League thanks to goals from Hakim Ziyech and Thiago Silva.
In the first half of the meeting, there wasn’t much to talk about because all that happened was possibilities being created.
Chelsea got off to a good start by controlling the ball, which has been crucial for them since Thomas Tuchel took over from club great Frank Lampard.
Tottenham had a lot on their plate, but that didn’t stop them from posing problems that the Blues were able to solve as the game went.
Little occurred as they approached the half-hour mark, and there was still nothing to distinguish them in a game when more opportunities came from both sides.
Chelsea drew 0-0 with Tottenham in the first half, and they both walked inside for the break with nothing separating them after 45 minutes.
The second half progressed with more chances and the Blues continuing to push forward with their control on the pitch.
Chelsea took the lead in the 47th minute when Hakim Ziyech curled in a goal past Hugo Lloris to put the score 1-0 as the game progressed.
Tottenham were unable to keep the game tight as Thiago Silva expanded the advantage to 2-0 in the 55th minute with a stunning strike assisted by Mason Mount, which saw them cruise once more.
Spurs, who were appearing lost on the pitch, missed numerous opportunities, allowing the Blues to tease them even more as the game progressed.
Chelsea won 2-0 over Tottenham in the Premier League, giving the Blues three points from another win against Spurs after their Carabao Cup meeting and now another in the Premier League.
