Ex Chelsea Defender Who Could Be Solution To Wing Back Problem

Chelsea is one of the clubs looking for remedies to their injury problems that have hampered their performance thus far during the January transfer window.

The Blues are seriously considering bolstering their defensive department in the already-opened January transfer window by bringing in possible targets who can help them compete for the EPL title with Manchester City.

It’s widely assumed that a replacement for Ben Chilwel is required at Stamford Bridge, and one ideal ex-Chelsea defender has been identified, according to reports.

Chelsea have agreed to make a prospective approach for Leicester City defender Ryan Bertrand as a cover for injured Chilwel, who is expected to be sidelined until the end of the season, according to Football London.

Bertrand, 32, left Chelsea on a free transfer after ten years with the London giants from 2005 to 2015, and joined Leicester City, where he has slid down the pecking order, with Luke Thomas starting ahead of him.

Meanwhile, Chelsea is also interested in Everton’s Lucas Digne, with recent reports claiming that he is willing to move to Stamford Bridge.
