Chelsea 3-1 Southampton (Premier League) 2021-22 | HIGHLIGHTS
A good game as Chelsea claimed an incredible 3-1 victory against 10-man Southampton at Stamford Bridge with goals coming from Chalobah alongside Timo Werner and Chilwell.
So much could have happened in the game as both teams did well enough in their attacking which sees the result ending this way despite all the opportunities that things wouldn’t have been like this.
A good one for Thomas Tuchel who will be glad things ended in his favor as they needed to get this win after their poor run which saw them losing to Manchester City in the league and Juventus in the UCL group stage.

Perfect Start to the first half of the encounter which saw the home side quickly betting control of the match as they push forward in attempts to open the goal scoring as quickly as they could.
Chelsea didn’t take long to score as Trevoh Chalobah was able to head home from a cross which saw the scoreline turned 1-0 in the 9th minutes of play with the assist going to Ruben Loftus-Cheek who almost go the goal.
It was looking good for the Blues who maintained a fair share amount of the ball possession as they dominated things while going forward against Southampton who couldn’t make anything happen.
Things continued to play out as opportunities kept on coming through but no one could finish off neatly as the game entered into the final stages of the first half which was looking evenly balanced.
Timo Werner scored in the 41st minutes, but unfortunately, the goal was disallowed by VAR after reviewing it once again before it was canceled for a foul previously committed with the encounter going on with the 1-0 scoreline.
The encounter ended in the first half with Chelsea taking a slim 1-0 advantage against Southampton after an outstanding performance from both teams in the 45 minutes.
Good start to the second half which saw both teams coming out with more fire and pace in them as the opportunities were still being created but nothing could change the scoreline in the early stages.
Southampton was able to push back as the ball positions shifted in their favor for a bid with them growing more confident into the game and making things difficult for the Blues who wanted to kill the match very early.
The game entered 60 minutes and still nothing coming from both sides who continued holding off each other as they were hoping to get something from themselves which looked impossible.
James Ward-Prowse converted from the penalty spot to level things for the Saints 1-1 in the 61st minutes which saw him finishing off after the Blues were reckless in defending that led to them conceding a foul in the box.
Goalscorer James Ward-Prowse was sent out of the game after he went in with a harsh tackle which the referee awarded a yellow card to him which was turned to a red card after VAR made a review for the decision changing in the 77th minute.
Timo Werner scored in the 84th minute to give the home side a 2-1 lead which was as a result of a good buildup which saw Cesar Azpilicueta proving the assistance for the German International who finished off neatly.
Things were far from done as Ben Chilwell made thing scoreline 3-1 following a good play that saw Romelu Lukaku strike hitting the post before the wing-back finished off with a wonderful goal in the 89th minute.
Nothing could happen again as Chelsea settled for three points with the encounter ending with a 3-1 result against Southampton which means the Blues move back to the top of the League table.
