Juventus 1-0 Chelsea (UEFA Champions League) 2021-22 | HIGHLIGHTS

Thomas Tuchel suffered second defeat of the season as Chelsea were beaten 1-0 by Juventus who remain top of the Champions League table with 6 points.

Another defeat suffered after coming from Manchester City game with same fate of 1-0 result which might be a cause for concern as Romelu Lukaku fires blank once again as he goal drought continues.

The Uefa Champions League encounter could have gone either way as they both did gave a good account of themselves while pushing forward in search of getting the job done.


Both teams started the encounter brilliant as they had a good amount of control in the early stages of the first half which few opportunities came for them going forward.

Juventus were not that good as they struggled to cope with the dominance being shown by the Premier League side who were quick to control things as it progressed.

The match continued to go the way of Chelsea who dominated but find it hard to make it count despite all the amount of ball possession going their way in the first half.

Nothing could separate them as the opportunities kept on coming from both ends with no one to finish off with the encounter entering the final stages of the first 45 minutes which remained goalless.

Things failed to change as the referee ended the first half with Juventus 0-0 Chelsea which saw them going inside for the break after a poor 45 minutes of a barren draw between the teams.

The second half wasn’t that bad as some good opportunities were created with Juve forcing their opponent to fall back defending as they pushed hard despite two key players out.

Juventus finally took the lead in the 46th minute of play which saw Federico Chiesa converting with a superb finish after being assisted by Bernardeschi to make the scoreline 1-0 as it went on.

Thomas Tuchel couldn’t do anything as his Chelsea side continued to struggle in the second half which was looking worst for them as it progressed with them being pressured in the encounter.

Yellow cards were given as tempers began to rise for the Blues who saw Antonio Rudiger and Hakim Ziyech getting booked in quick succession as they were unable to get back in the game which was looking lost.

More of the ball going the way of the London side but still their finishing was bad with Romelu Lukaku throwing away a very good opportunity of scoring the goal which could have leveled things.

The scoreline couldn’t change as it ended with Chelsea suffering their second defeat of the season against Juventus as they played out a 1-0 result which sees them now seating third on the table.
