The second half kicked off brightly as the Blues continued to hold on to their slim lead which saw Jorginho coming on for Saul Niguez who was substituted by the manager after 45 minutes.
Chelsea didn’t take long to increase their lead thanks to Mateo Kovacic’s perfect finish in the 49th minute which saw the Londoners taking a 2-0 lead after another marvelous work from the Champions of Europe.
It was looking all lost for Aston Villa who had to keep up and ensured the two goals scored were the only ones getting past them as the game progressed into the last stages with 70 minutes gone and nothing to report.
Nothing coming as the visitors did everything in their power to make sure the game favored them a bit, but no it was the Blues who scored another goal in the 93rd minute as Romelu Lukaku made it his brace with a scoreline of 3-0.
