Liverpool 1-1 Chelsea (Premier League) 2021 | HIGHLIGHTS

10 man Chelsea held Liverpool to a 1-1 draw in the English Premier League as Reece James was sent off in the first half of the encounter as Kai Havertz and Mo Salah scored the goals.

It was an amazing game which could have gone one way after the red card happened for the Blues but thanks to the quick and accurate thinking of Thomas Tuchel, he was able to find a fix before the game ended.


A dramatic first half witnessed between the two rivals which saw two goals scored, a red card and one penalty award as both sides showed so much quality all through the 45 minutes which was entertaining.

It started with Liverpool dominating the half and pressing so much that the Blues were barely able to clear their defense which was very solid as Thomas Tuchel named same players from the win against Arsenal which excluded Chalobah.

Chelsea opened the goal scoring in the 22nd minute as Kai Havertz scored an astonishing header which went in the far corner of the post to give the Blues a 0-1 lead after Reece James provided the assistance.

The game carried on with both sides fighting very hard against each other until a big decision which saw Reece James blocked the ball from crossing the line and was later given as a penalty and red card for the Blues.

Mohamed Salah stepped up and converted as the first 45 minutes ended with Liverpool 1-1 Chelsea after the Egyptian ensured his side scored the goal to level things before they both headed for the break.

The second 45 minutes opened up with the visitors facing all the pressure which their opponent had multiple of them as they know the advantage was no more on their side with a one man down which was a big difference.

Liverpool was all about the pressing and trying everything possible to make sure they find a way through the defense which saw Thiago Silva coming on for Kai Havertz after a tactical change from Thomas Tuchel in the 46th minute.

More defending work for Chelsea who had nothing more to offer forward as they had to make sure they don’t go down losing the game which saw more quality defensive display and heroic saves from Edouard Mendy.

The match carried on with more of the Reds players getting more frustrated with how they are unable to find a breakthrough most especially from Mohamed Salah as he was always being shut down.

The match finished with Chelsea holding Liverpool to a 1-1 draw which saw them getting one point and keeping their unbeaten run in the English Premier League season so far which is their third run.
